I just purchased an original 1972 442 convt w/455 AT and only 59K documented miles. Can anyone tell me about approx production #s for this Sunfire Yellow car?
It is a high option edition.

Oldsmobile production numbers are not available like other makes. So, anything you are told is just a guess

In 1972 1171 Cutlass Supreme convertibles were built with the W-29 option.

I'm really hoping to learn about how many W29 cars had 455 engines out of the 1171. Is there any published info on color break down?

There are no records of color break down.

There were 113 W-30 convertibles so that leaves 1058 442 convertibles built split between 455 and 350 powered cars in 1972.

Your car is rare enough. Enjoy it and stop worrying about rarity bragging rights.
