Yes it's a 400 big block out of a 1969 vista cruiser I had rebuilt all stock internals it has the N crank and C heads and a 280 lift cam runs good.I just got it back last week I still need a new carb I have a 600 Holley on it and its starved for gas need a real a recommendation on carb my mechanic says to get a 750 double pumper and got to replace torque converter it's the stock one and at stop lights feels like it wants to pull through the brakes.

Welcome, nice car. You might find a good Rochester carb would work best on a stock manifold.

I actually still have the original off the 350 that's was in it and two others for parts so before I drop money on a new carb I'm gonna take it to a carb rebuilder around my way and see if he can rebuild one I really prefer a quadrajet ain't nothing like when them secondaries kick in.

This is a very good site with lots of knowledgeable people on it who are very willing to help. You will find a lot of good stuff here.

You might want to also join

http://www.73-77olds.com/forums/index.php

You will find another set (although sometimes the same people) of very knowledgeable, good people who specialize in your car.

Love the triple-black of your car.

You don't say where you are located, but if you are anywhere near southeast Michigan I know of a couple of very good Q-jet rebuilders.

I went ahead and got the quadrajet rebuilt today and put back on runs a lot better enjoying the part throttle response the Holley wasn't giving me.Now need to work on getting some 3.42 gears installed so I can gain some performance.

When I acquired then engine it had a edelbrok manifold on it and for some reason at the time I wanted a stock engine bay so my builder must have used a olds manifold he had.I have a question the manifold on it now has oldsmobile written in scrip most olds manifolds I've seen has never had that on it is there a way to figure out what mine was originally on.

Dude, I'm digging the mini mirror ball hanging from the rearview mirror. That was about the right timeframe for Saturday Night Fever. Vintage Travolta.

Found that lil disco ball at the flea market and remember hearing cars made during the late 70s were revered to some time as the disco era cars,it's real cool how the sun hits it and throws lil lights all over the car while I'm driving.

Thanks for the compliment I'm deffintly going to keep it as stock as possible like you said there's not many original examples of anything left anymore and don't get me wrong I'm all for customizing but if its to clean I say keep it original other then a small sound system this is how it will always look.
