New Member from Maryland
Greetings everyone from Harford County Maryland. Just joined this site the other day and I like what I see. I'm currently doing an extensive nut and bolt restoration on a 69 442 convertible for someone. This is just a hobby thing for me as I have a regular job. My last restoration was on a 1979 Hurst Olds that resides in the CT area. I used to own that car so I was pleased to get the chance to restore it. It ended up in the December issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines which was a real treat. Google Hemmings 1979 Hurst Olds and you will find the article if interested. I'm also a former Hurst employee (81-84) which is how I bought the 79 HO I had as it was Linda Vaughn's promotional car at the time. I did participate in the 83 HO meetings and drove the 83 HO concept car, actually they gave it to me to use for the weekend. Now that was cool!! My girfriend, now wife, drove it to a show in NJ that Hurst participated in and I led the way in a new 83 HO. That was quite a sight to have these two cars on the road together and it got a lot of attention. Those were the days. Anyway, here's a few photos of the 69 convert project. This car is an original code 03 paint color, Nugget Gold, which was a special factory order for a Cutlass/442 in 69. Car has AC, auto, AM/FM stereo and 3:23 posi. I'll be posting some parts I have for sale as well as a wanted ad or two when I get some time. Thanks for everything that everyone does to make this site possible.

Welcome to CO! Yes, extremely nice job on the Old's. Am sure you will be able to give assistance to those asking for it; probably me included (notice I didn't say "possibly", I said "probably".........LOL, if you know me!) Again, welcome!

Hello Aron and thanks for the message. I read your column all the time in my JWO and enjoy "your point of view". Keep up the good work and keep the articles coming! Ask away and I'll do my best to tell you or anyone what I can. You may actually get to see this car one day as the car belongs to a gentleman in Dallas, actually Colleyville. If all goes well, it could be back home in TX this summer.

Hello Brian, welcome aboard! Glad you joined us.
I'm with Aron, I'll be asking for help/pointers somewhere along the way too.
As stated above, that 442 restoration looks great and now I have a question.
What do you use for coating/painting the frame and rear end?
That question has been asked a million times but I like to know what methods/materials are being used and why (I'm currently restoring my car).
Keep up posted on your progress with this resto...I'm sure you've noticed pictures are highly desired around here.

Thanks Kelvin. Let me give you a quick reply to the finish question. I used epoxy primer and Eastwood 2K Ceramic Chassis Black (satin) on this frame and same primer but a PPG urethane black with a little flattener for the differential. I'm just the newbie here but I did see where a moderator asked this Newbie section to be limited to the meet/greet. So I don't want to get off on a wrong foot here. If you want more details, post a forum, send me a message and I will gladly post a detailed reply for you. I hope this doesn't offend anyone as I'm just trying to work with the rules.
Thanks, Brian

Cool, that's short and sweet.
Funny, my next move was to message you directly so BOTH of us would be within the guidelines of the Newbie forum.
Just wanted to pose the question in case others were interested as well.
Thanks for the response., I'll be tagging your inbox soon.
