My name is Adam and I live in Delaware. I've owned my 87 Cutlass for the last 16+ years. Unfortunately, some <insert bad name here> slid through my front yard and smashed into my 87 and pushed it into another car parked in my driveway, totaling both.

My wife and I took the insurance money (we kept the car too) and have started looking for something different. We test drove a 71 Cutlass flat-top wagon on new years day, and although it needed more work than I was willing to buy into, we have started looking for an older GM, preferably Olds, wagon to play with.

She has been sending me links for all kinds of wagons, far and near, but for some reason or another, each one just doesn't fit the bill.

I figured this would be a good opportunity to introduce myself to this forum. Thank you for reading this far.

Welcome, good to see you on here. I got a trans from you on Olds Power. Sorry about your car. Good luck on your search. Maybe we can get together sometime again. There will be a parts meet in Cambridge, MD on the 25th.

I don't know what your budget is, but here's an '88 Custom Cruiser in Alabama that looks pretty darn nice to me.

Here's a good-looking '77 Vista Cruiser in Arizona.

Here's a beautiful '68 Vista Cruiser.

There are many more of them out there.

Larry- Nice to talk to you again. As it would have it, I now work in Easton, MD, so the trip to Cambridge for the parts meets might not be a bad idea, (except I think I'm working on the 25th)

I forgot to post what my budget is. Right now, I'm sitting at a hair under $6k, but that is growing every paycheck.

Diego- I currently live in Kenton/Clayton DE, but I lived in North Wilmington up until 8 years ago. I was a member of the Delaware Valley Olds Club, but I had to drop out, due to the driving distance. When I worked in Newark, it was a lot easier to attend functions and meetings.

Thanks for the welcome.

Like I said, I have been on the lookout for something different and "cool" to drive. And something in my price range. The wife and I were talking and I told her that I wanted to stay with Olds, but I was open to just about anything GM. She finds me a link to a 64 Pontiac Tempest 4dr. I'm on the fence about it, but I like everything about it. I would have to do some fixes to it, like upgrade to power brakes, and address the seat belts. But it's low mileage and apparently near my price range. I haven't decided on it 100% yet, and I wouldn't have an Olds, but Pontiacs are still cool.

I'll let everyone know what I find.

Well, I decided to keep it Olds and went 4-5 hours north and pick up a 1964 Olds 98 4dr. She ain't perfect, but it was right in my price range. Runs and drives smooth, and I drove it home after getting the title work done.

Now, I need to check out the Big Olds section and really learn about it!

Thanks
Adam

I think '64 98s are pretty sweet. Like the Electra, it seems GM did something extra for them compared to the lesser cars.
