I'm east of Cleveland.
I got picked this 68 cutlass up a few years ago and intended to rescue it. I say rescue because I think it's too much for me to restore.
I just pulled it out of the garage again today.
So far, I've done some sanding, stripped the glue off of the roof, welded the floor pan in, repaired the seats (not restored just repaired), got it to run and put some round wheels on it.
I got fender patches, but I did such a bad job on the floor pan, I don't think it's realistic to weld them myself.

Doesn't look so bad
Fender patches etc aren't so bad. Just make sure the weld is full and just grind it off smooth. Take your time and just spot weld moving around not to get things to hot and cause it to warp. Looks like a nice project from here!

If the welding is bothering you, maybe someone on this site near you could lend a hand? ziff is right; take your time. Measure 2X weld once. The good thing is you can always re-weld if you need to

Welcome aboard!
Nice big project you have there. Weld some more yourself and you will get better over time. With those two motivated helpers of yours, this thing will be on the road in no time.
Glad you found some round wheels for it - those are the ultimate in riding comfort. Square wheels are by far the worst but upgrading to a triangle would have at least eliminated one bump...![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Glad to see another '68. I am kinda partial to them.
Other's may correct me buy I think your's is a Cutlass Supreme. Cutlass, Cutlass S, Cutlass Supreme and 442 were all different models, carrying different model numbers in the vin. It was not just a option package.
Your car looks in pretty good shape, well worth the time and effort. Free child labour will help the costs down. Have fun.

welding
Wow! What a big response. I just stepped out for dinner andmy post became a thread.
I'd love it if I could get somebody to weld the fender patches for me. I called a few body sops to try and figure out how much it would cost, but basically nobody will price it unless I take it to them.
At the moment that would cost me $50 in transmission fluid, so unless somebody is looking for a side job, I'll probably have to keep plugging away at mechanical problems until she's roadworthy...ish.

Ware hat about replacement fenders?
What dou you think of replacement fenders? From JCWhitney, there are naai replacements for $250 each. I don't imaging that paying somebody to weld will be much cheaper. Is there a reason not to use replacements?

Those are universal fit replacement fenders. As far as I know no one reproduces a 68-69 fender yet.

Parts Car
If you are looking for a parts car, this might interest you. I do not know the person selling it but he says it is solid. If you are really interesting in restoring the car a you need metal, original stuff is well worth the price. Especially for the 68.
