Hello from Australia
Finally pulled my finger out and started work on the '58 olds I picked up last year.
Intend to start on the brakes and slowly rebuild everything over the next couple of years. Not much info I can find online on this particular year, so if you guys could point me in the direction of books, manuals, online resources etc, that would be great.
Cheers!

Your first purchase should be a factory service manual for this car. No other item will help you more in the long run.

Cheers, I got one of those as part of the purchase but have not had a chance to look through it.

Here is a pic as it sits at the moment.
Have a whole bunch of new/nos parts to fill her up with . Came with a continental kit (not fitted) when I got it but dont think I'll be using it. If anyone in Aus needs one, shout out.

You know, I hate to complain, but you came on here asking to be "pointed in the direction" of "books, manuals, online resources etc," which suggested that you didn't have anything yet.

Now, after I've taken the trouble to point you in the direction of something, you come on and say you already have that something. Next time, tell us what you already have so we don't waste time suggesting it.

Jaunty, agreed my statement was a bit ambiguous and i did appreciate you're feedback.
By "Not much info I can find online" I was hoping for on the line pdf's of master parts and accessory catalouge, exploded diagrams, helpul resto blogs or websites similar to http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/

However, in the mean time I have managed to stumble upon these though which may be useful for other on this site.

Nothing in the old car hobby is supported the way Chevrolet is, with maybe Ford a close second. Don't assume that, if you can find it online for Chevy, it ought also to be online for Oldsmobile. Various kinds of manuals besides the factory service manual (parts manuals, assembly manuals, etc.), if they exist, are likely available through literature vendors, ebay, and things like that.

There is a great deal of knowledge about Oldsmobiles on this site as well. If you have a specific question or questions about your car, instead of just a generic "I need help restoring my car," post it in the appropriate forum here, and you will likely get an answer.
