Just purchased a 68 cutlass supreme ...
It has 4 piston front discs stock.. I am wondering if this was a specific option or did i by chance run into something special ...
other options are power windows .. nothing looks out of the ordinary
as far as the engine goes .. its gold ...
Im looking for a hood or opinions on the fiberglass hoods from vpn..
also looking for a parts place .. using the parts place and brothers now...
also one other thing im looking for is the interior 1/4 panel lens cover..
and the post emblems for vinyl top models..

As I recall, and I'm sure to be corrected if I'm wrong, the 4-piston calipers were unique in '67 and '68. Olds went to a 2-piston caliper in '69 (possibly even in later '68). In any case, sounds to me like you got a pretty nice car. Nice to have the power window set-up as well. The gold engine is right - it's a 350ci. I like to keep my cars as original (or original looking) as possible so I would look for a replacement hood rather than going fiberglass - just my personal opinion, though.
Good places for parts include Fusick (www.fusick.com for their on-line catalog and info). I've also used Supercars Unlimited (see www.supercarsunlimited.com for their catalog and info) for mechanical parts. From my experience, I like Fusick the best for overall knowledge and reliability. Both Fusick and SuperCars deal strictly with Olds parts. Year One is also good (www.yearone.com). I've seen people complain about BAP at this site but I used them for a few things and got great service.
Post some pictures of your car when you get a chance. All of us would like to see it!

Welcome to the site Charles! Yes, please post pictures when you can. The 350 cars didn't come with dual exhaust so its likely a previous owner made the change. If you use the search option there have been some discussions about exhaust size. I'm not an expert, but from what I remember you may want to stay with the factory sized pipes for a 350 that's more of a driver rather than primarily used at the race track. John

If your 350ci engine is a 4bbl it should be the 310hp unit. Supremes came standard with the 350/310 and an option was the 350/250 with the 2bbl carb. I do believe dual exhaust was an option for the Cutlass Supreme, (option code N10) but nearly all Cutlass Supremes of that vintage that I've seen originally came with single exhaust. You could check the carb number (7028250 for the 4bbl?) and the intake manifold number, as well as the casting date of the intake manifold, to see if all are consistent with the particulars of your car. You can also check the exhaust manifolds to see if they have the correct casting numbers for dual exhaust - a physical sign that might exist if the exhaust is converted would be that the cross-over is blocked off.
Tried to look at your pictures but it says I can't.

Thanks Randy i will start checking on this .. it is a stock 4 barrell
already bought flotech headers ...
might not even put them on...
so if they are the stock dual exhaust is that the 325 hp??
i had some pinging before i installed the new gas tank...
when i drained the gas it was dark orange ...
hopefully the pinging goes away with the new tank...

Just to clarify a little, the four-piston fixed calipers were optional on all 1967-68 GM A-body cars (as well as on the full-size cars). They were a relatively rare option. Starting with the 1969 model year, GM went to a SINGLE piston sliding caliper disc brake design that was optionally available on all models.

From what I read there was not a dual exhaust mainifold made for small blocks in that era here is what i read
"All Olds small-blocks with dual exhausts used the single-exhaust right-hand manifold, with one opening capped off. There are no true dual exhaust small block manifolds. "
so apparantly the factory blocked off the dual exhaust
on all factory dual exhaust small blocks ???
Im not making statements only trying to learn
