I dont mean to sound like an arzhole,,,,
Do you know what you are looking at or for? Vin , cowls, and dates that pertain to the 74 w30 and HUrst/Olds? Im not as versed on 74's as in the previuos year but I do know a bit or could put you in touch with those who do if you would like.
AnyH/O good luck and keep us posted!

Since I first posted you added pictures.... The 74 inside and outside window blanks are missing? How about all the 74 specific top and targa trim? Impossible to find ! Hope its with the car? What grill does it have and front clip?

He said it has 40, 000 miles I asked why he wanted to trade I guess he inherited from his father who passed away and he can't drive it everyday and he really don't like oldsmobiles

All 1974 442s came with the louvered hood, not just H/Os. Unfortunately, without additional documentation, it looks like a 74 442 that's had the dual gate added and emblems stuck on after a repaint. As noted, the original 1974 exterior parts (opera window frames, targa band) are impossible to find. If this is a real H/O, you will want documentation and the price should reflect the value of the missing parts. Of course, a real 1974 442 with a factory installed 455 (as proven by the letter "U" in the fifth place of the VIN) is still worth something.

The slight glipse of interior looks good. As said, lot of top stuff missing and good luck finding replacement trim.

If it is indead a '74 W30 H/O with 455 the VIN code should be a "V" (U-code is Cutlass, 442). Lots of engine details specific to the H/O that would be hard to find also. "OX" trans ID is specific also.

Trade for a 92 camaro?
Ummm...Yes...Good luck
on the deal, I wouldn't hesitate,
clone or no. 455 and a dual-gate,
and you have a set of C's ready to go?
Sounds like a sweet deal to me.
Way more fun than a plastic Camero.

I am a little biased though, I had a 74 442
with a 350, and also owned a 73 H/O with
a 455. If you haven't driven/owned one of
the 73-77's, ther'e not for everyone, but
pretty sweet in their own right.

It is definately a good deal to pick up. My only concern is does it have any paperwork to say its a Hurst/Olds? My guess is that its a 442 which is still an awesome car.
I just dont want you to get scrwed thinking its a H/O...

Welcome to CO. H/O or 442, go for it. Ditto on what's been stated in regards to the '74 H/O specifics.

Out of curiosity...how are you sure it's a W30 without any Documentation to authenticate it's pedigree and what are your plans for the car?

That's what you needed to know! In 74, only the H/O W30 had a V designation for the engine code. It sounds like it is a true W30 but is missing alot of H/O trim which will be very hard to replace. Not sure what the engine looks like but I sure hope it still has the dual snorkel air cleaner. Good luck. I hope you end up with the car.

I spoke to you on the phone a month or two ago about this car.
Are your intentions to still sell the '74 after the trade because you think its worth more than the '92?
These cars are a tough sell... especially without the decals and targa top.

^^^No interior shots, no mention of the
Hurst dual-gate. Hmmm... Looks just like the
74 442 I had in high school. But at least this
one has H/O emblems where mine had the 442 emblems.
Hmmm....
