New From Florida
How you guys doing, My names Jon, probably one of your younger members at 22. My dad is passing down a 68 Cutlass S to me, I did body work for BMW, Toyota, and Chevrolet for 3 years before I joined the military. Just wanted to introduce myself.
The car is in pretty rough shape, I will be putting atleast one new quarter on it when I get back home. Pulling the body off the frame and doing a full restoration on it. Right now I am deployed overseas with the Navy.
So if anyone has any tips to these cars let me know.
My plans for it are to first pull the body off and redo the frame, maybe upgrade the brakes while its apart. I want to do the suspension on it but not really sure whats available havnt really researched it at all. After the frame is done I will start on the body cleaning it up fixing any dents, dings, and then spraying it. Not sure what color yet most likely a silver with either blue stripes or black stripers. Interior will probably be swapped out for black leather, its got the white leather now. Then for the motor I havnt decided on what I am going to do, I know I want to do a transmission swap since its a auto right now. But I deffinetly want more power then the stock 350.
So like I said any tips, hints or information I am always up to learn more.
Thanks
Jon

Welcome to CO fellow Floridian and thanks for your service Jon. You are the owner of one very cool car. There are a lot '68 owners on here so you will have no problem getting as much information as you need. Looking forward to watching the rebuild. Post some pics if you can.
