New To Classic Olds

Hay, this is 13boji32 . First old car. Found a 1986 Cutless, 4 Door, automatic Tran., body good, in storage for the last 10 years, she wants $2,500. My question is: is this a reasonable price, and what do I need to do before trying to start it? Just put in a gal. of gas and start? Thanks for any help on this first buy.

Welcome to C.O.
Ok, first you mean Cutlass..
If it's sat in storage the last 10 years without being started? Fresh gas is definitely going to be needed and you'll probably also need a new battery to crank it. If it starts and runs you'll have a lot more safety checks to do before it hits the road.

2500 for an 86 4 door Cutlass? What model, how many miles, what engine, what options? Personally I think that's high for what it is - not much demand for the 4 doors.

Hi and welcome! Hard to put a price on something we have not seen, pictures are a plus but not always reliable. Also you did not indicate miles or level of (cutlass) LS or brougham. or options. You can also try NADA.com classic car guide.

Wow this is the second post for a 4 door I've seen today. X2 on the new gas and possibly a battery. Again nice to see another 4 door possibly not going to the wrecking yard. As Allan says there isn't much demand for 4 doors, but there isn't much of a difference in what you can do on a 2 door & not on a 4 door. Body work is the biggest difference, the rest is pretty much the same. Post some pics if possible.

I answered your first post, I would not start it if it has 10 year old gas in it. Refer to your first post.
