new to cars altogether

I haven't really done much with cars in my life except drive them and junk them. I decided to learn more about cars so I bought a 1975 omega to tinker around with. One thing leads to another and here I am on the forum. I can't wait to become part of the community and share my progress on the omega with all of you fine like- minded people

Welcome to CO. I owned a '76 Omega for a few years and it was a great daily driver.

Good to have interests. One of the good things about the car you're tinkering on: It shares similar body panels with the Buick Apollo/Skylark, Chevy Nova, and Pontiac Ventura. The body styles were pretty much interchangeable. Is your car the hatchback, 2 door or 4 door? The body styles on these cars didn't change much from about 70 until the X bodies came into being in 1980. These were the grocery getter cars of their day

1977 Chevy Nova Concours Cabriolet

1977 Buick Apollo (which also got rebadged in 1978 to become the 'Skylark'

1977 Pontiac Ventura

and of course, The Oldsmobile Ωmega. You can see the similarities in these cars. Tons of interchangeable parts.
