New to all of this
Hey Kevin here. 1st forum 1st classic. Is a thread a post? Can't get pic to upload using iPhone. I recently purchased a 71 cutlass convertible 350 auto. I'm eager to share and learn more about it. Can I stop the pop ups?
Thanks.
Thanks.

A thread is not a post. A post is an individual message, and a thread contains a series of posts.
I use ad-block plus to block ads. Not sure about it's use on an I-phone, though.
I think it's easier to upload photos using a computer rather than a smartphone, but I've never tried doing it with a phone.

If you want to post a message in an existing thread, just hit "Post Reply" on the lower left of the page. In fact, you had to do this just to ask this question.
If you want to start a new thread, find the appropriate forum, click on it, and then hit "New Thread" at the top left of the page.
Again, you already had to do this in order to start THIS thread. So you're asking how to do things that you've already done, which has me scratching my head.

I've seen questions posted by office sec. on forum for locksmiths. They get upset if you post questions in the manner. For me this is 1st forum. New post and new thread apparently mean the same thing. I wanted to make sure I was posting questions right

As I said, no they don't, at least not here.
A new thread is like the start of a new conversation. Someone starts the thread, in the appropriate forum (as you did, by creating THIS thread in the "Newbie" forum), by introducing yourself or by asking a question or asking about a needed part or something (which is a "post" and it's the first one in the thread), and all of the posts that follow by that person or anyone who responds is the thread.
Threads contain posts. A new thread obviously contains a new post. But a new post can be made in an existing thread, not just a new thread.

Welcome to the site. I am new to the site as well, at least relatively new.
Congrats on your car. The 1971 Cutlass convertible is an excellent vehicle and they seem to be gaining in value, so I believe you made an excellent investment. I'd always wanted a 1970-72 Cutlass and about two years ago I ran across a decent 1970 convertible. And I love it.
Good luck

I love this body style. I hope it was a great investment. It is correct in a lot of ways but I did find out it was light green from factory. The carpet I don't think is correct either. Not sure about the steering wheel. It is the rally wheel but I feel like it probably came w/standard wheel. I have 350 #'s matching w/350 auto. pw pb ps ac bench seat and 8track and just about everything works (8track not hooked up). AC blows cold but need leak fixed and recharged.

Welcome aboard, Just a guess but I bet the file(picture ) is to large and will need to be resized to be excepted. Check out the sticky at the beginning of the newbie forum for a few ideas on how to resize or let us know and we will give you a hand, this is a very common problem on this site....Tedd
