new from Alberta howdy

hey all. Finally found my dream car. After 8 years of looking for a good one found a 1970 442 out of Toronto, and had her shipped home. She's a 4-speed unknown if its a true W-30 has the red fender wells but some people say W-30s didn't come with manual some say they did my guess is she was cloned to a W-30. She needs some TLC and I've got plenty of questions to ask. So ill be around for awhile.

P.S please forgive the gawdy 18 inch chrome rims im looking for some 14s to put back on

Welcome.

FYI Oldsmobile only car show on Saturday July 21 in Olds AB @ Hildebrand Chev dealership. Best Olds only show in Western Canada. Do NOT miss it!

I just took a set of 5 SS111 14" rims off my 72 W-30 in favor of repo 15" rims. No tires on the rims now as they were ancient 20 year old BFGs & I sold them cheap to a chevy guy to store his car on. Have 5 rims with center 4 center caps (not on spare) & 5 trim rings. If interested they are Radiant Green so you will need to mask & blast them then paint them argent silver or your body color. PM for a price....I am in Cochrane.

And as far as SOME PEOPLE saying things who ever heard of anything so silly as to say the W-30 was not available as a manual trans....that is a funny one. Clearly you have been listening to the clueless.

Dave, his car is not an original W30. Someone prolly did clone it at one time. The cowl tag for his car clearly shows it was produced at Linden NJ. As you're aware all W30 production was at Lansing. It's still a heck of a nice looking car; just needs some TLC and $$ thrown its way.

I don't know who told him that 442's weren't available with MT, that's insane.

Welcome to the site. Meet the caravan at Deerfoot Mall on Saturday, they'll leave at 9 am and follow them to Olds. Dave, Allan and I will be there to check out your new passion.

There will always be next year. Denise had her 70 W30 there again and I got a shot of the cowl tag. The PNT code on here car is -- A. She has original paint on the car and it's Rallye Red / white vinyl roof. You would have loved to compare side by side.

And Oldsmobile Dave was there too! Got to meet him. Really nice guy and his gold 69 is absolutely killer.
