New 2 the site - 71 Cutlass Convertible
Thanks everyone. I actually just bought it from the 2nd owner. Car was in New Mexico most of it's life. Here's a few more pics. I'm in Buffalo, New York. I used to have a 67 RS/SS Camaro about 20 years ago and I've been itching to get back into the hobby for a while. I couldn't think of a better car to do that with than an Olds. I also used to have an 84 Hurst/Olds - the Lightning Rods were always the topic of conversation when anyone was in that car.
I thought I would post something regarding why I chose an Olds. When I was 8, my dad bought a brand new 1974 442. I remember going to the showroom to see it and then drive it home a day or two later. In any case, that car really made an impression on this young boy. Black with white racing stripes, Swivel bucket seats, those cool ball-style vents, and the way the instruments were laid out on the dash. I was hooked. This picture is all that remains of the car, but it has always stayed with me. So, thanks Dad!
