I'm thinking to buy an Oldsmobile Cutlass. But i want to make sure it is original (most).
My biggest concern is about the engine. The offer talks about a 455cui engine, is it the right one in these car? Oldsmobile Cutlass V8 1971 VIN NR: 336871G121842
Please, can some of you experts have a look into the offer:
Most of that car is not even close to being original. Obviously the paint and interior are custom. The style is a matter of personal taste. The grills are 1971 442 grills, not Cutlass, so obviously those have been changed. As for the engine, well in the 1971 model year the only engines available in the Cutlass model line were the inline six, the L65 350 2bbl motor, and the L74 350 4bbl motor. The photos don't provide enough into to tell if that's even a 455, but assuming it is, it is definitely not original to that car. Obviously most of the parts on the engine are aftermarket anyway, so there's no telling what has been done to that car, but clearly it has been heavily modified.
