In 1977 my boyfriend special ordered a 442 with a 403, blue over white with white interior. That car had a ton of memories, but the AF moved us to England and we couldn't take it. He had to sell it in 1980.
Fast forward a few decades- we had a 39th anniversary yesterday, and after literally a year of searching, I found a car that I could afford. He is currently away, and the whole purchase is a surprise anniversary present.
When we got married, I had a 60's VW. We had to move cross-country, so we rattle-canned it into a '221' and towed it. See crappy polaroid pic below.
I figure we don't look like we did in 77 either- and this car needs a lot of love, paint, blood, and sweat. Not to mention $$. Looking forward to working on it together. Those of you from the 73-77 forum will recognize the 221 if you have been around a while.

True story: Shortly after I purchased my '68 from dad when I was in college, I used to refer to it as a 221, or 1/2 of a 442. After all, it had a 2-bbl, 2-speed and single exhaust.
