Hello all,
This is my first post. Hope I do it right. I joined because I purchased a '74 Olds Cutlass Supreme a couple months ago. The car was a Military Purchase for a Vietnem Vet after being shot up, and eventually losing his legs. The family had the car in storage for years and it has 34K original miles. It's a Beauty BUT, it's also 40 yrs. old. I would have never guess that it would be so hard to find parts for a Very Popular GM car! I am by no means a "mechanic" but I love to tinker with older cars, so when this one came along, I couldn't resist. I actually bought it for my 15 yr. old son, for his first car. He has the same love of old cars and I wanted him to experience the same thrills that I did in the mid 70's when I owned my first muscle car... a '69 SuperBee.
Here's a pix of my son's first car...lucky dog! And it's all original, down to the factory A/M F/M 8Track and 350 Rocket!!

Welcome, that car looks great, it looks like the person sitting in the car really likes it also. Spend the time making memories maintaining it and working on it together, your return on the time invested will be priceless!!! Many happy miles to you...drive it!!!

Welcome. Great story. I hope I am that lucky that my kids are interested in old cars when they get ready to drive.

Thank you everyone...

...thank you everyone, and I will definitely be driving this car! As a matter of fact, since my son doesn't have his driver's license yet, I take full advantage of letting him know that I'm only driving his car because "it needs to be driven" LOL. I've done a little carb adjusting and minor tuning such as plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc... there are only two things I really want to tackle. One is complete exhaust, but that will be next Spring (I'm north of Chicago about 30 minutes from Wisconsin border) because the cold is already setting in here.
I've recognized a few of you guys as helpers in people forums. I have an electrical/AC question. I will post it in the "electrical" forum, please look at it and let me know if you have any advise. Thank you again.
