Smile Making myself known as I have been looking around

Hello all..

My handle is punnice and I have been using this site to help my brother and I with our latest project. As with most who do this type activity my brother and I have been turning wrenches for many years. Now with age comes other issues and wanted to re-live some good old days. My brother has continued his endeavors with mainly rebuilding his chevy's (He has a 1961 with a 454, a 1967 with a 350, a 1969 vette with a 454, and a 1982 Malibu with yet another 454).

He has prodded me for many years to build something, and recently I have stumbled on a 1968 442 that we re-building. Took out the 350 and now in the process of installing 455 (of which I have posted a question or two), so I am hopeful of learning some info as we move forward in getting our 442 up and running.

So this will be my street rod since the early 70's and am hopeful of getting it road worthy by next spring or early summer 2015. So should any of you see my posts, and or questions, please feel free to comment as it has been a bit since I have played in this area.

Thanking all in advance for your comments and or information,

Punnice, Northwestern Wisconsin

Welcome to the site!!
Perfect timing for getting her done as the Oldsmobile nationals next year are just outside of Milwaukee so perfect time to show it off.
Good to see you are sticking with a 455 and not a chevy engine, I'm sure your brother tried to talk you into one!

Welcome. FYI, a real 1968 442 would have come from the factory with a G-block 400 motor, not a 350. The small bore 400 was not one of Oldsmobile's better motors, so the 455 swap is common.
