Looking for some advice
Hello,
My name is Marcia. I live in Michigan, so if you know anything about my state you know that we experience seasonal change more than four times year.
I have a 1970 Cutlass. I think it might be an "S" but I am not 100% sure. I know it isn't a 442 and I am pretty sure it isn't a Supreme. It was my dad's car. He passed away in July 2015 after battling an aggressive form of brain cancer.
His car has been exposed to all elements over the past 12 years or so. Of course there is some rust. The 350 engine had been in good running condition when he stopped driving it. All that I can remember that may have been wrong with it initially is something to do with a wire harness. I also remember he wanted to put disc brakes on it all around. I don't remember how far he got with that.
What I want to know is what I should do with it. I really don't want to part with it. I would love to be able to at least get it back on the road and get the body repaired. I just don't know how severe the damage really is. I mean who knows what kind of nests may be in the car. I know absolutely nothing about how to assess the degrees of restoration and definitely do not have the know how of making any repairs myself.
What kind of suggestions can you veterans offer?

Welcome to the site. Sorry about your dad. Please post some good exterior, interior, under hood, trunk pictures, and if possible some of the underside. We can point you in the right direction from there.
We've got a number of reliable members in Michigan.
My first suggestion would be to have one of them stop by and look at the car in person, then they can provide a realistic estimate of how much work it would be to get the car going, and you can take it from there.
Welcome to ClassicOlds.

Go to the Classic Oldsmobile Map.

See who's near you and contact them. They may be able to come and look at your car and offer advice on it's restoration.

Welcome aboard. I applaud you for trying to save car. Helpful people here. If you are afraid of rodent nests, get the car around some cats or vice versa. Remove trunk mat and get under car to look for rust. Some cars can't be saved, or it is not economical to do so. Sorry for your losing your Dad, but they are always inside us.
