Lookin for parts for my 56 olds 88
I am lookin for a piece of trim that goes from the top of door down toward the main trim, it is a small radius piece, for the drivers side, can anyone help me locate this trim piece or sell me one? Also lookin for the 88emblem for the drivers side. Far as I can tell, it is just an 88 not a super 88. Thank you. Mark in Ky. 270-251-3077. Kartman24@gmail.com

Can't help you on the trim part but you can find re pops of the fender 88 script at USA Parts Supply or Fusicks and by the way welcome to CO, pictures are mandatory.... Lost in the fifties.... Tedd

Hey, thanx Tedd, every little bit helps. My 56 is for now gonna have to be in the rat rod category, but I hope to restore it as I drive it and have some fun. I will post some pics even though its not much to look at now! Thanx again... Mark.

pics of my "new" 56 olds
the first 2 pics is how i found it. i had a 56 chevy when i was in high school, sold it after about 15 years or so, in july 2012 went to look at a 56 chevy wagon for sale, walked by this 56 olds and decided, man...thats cool, i'll take that instead! floors pretty bad, well, whole car not too good, but i am a sheet metal worker, and i really just want an old hot rod and my son and i to have some fun with it. so i cut out the bad floor and made my own new floor, shined er up,put on a cheap set of tires so i can roll her around, and she is lookin a little better anyway. i'll keep you all updated on any progress.....if there is any! my son and i want to get it going by june 2013 to join in on the hot rod power in memphis. wish me luck! mark

Well it does look a lot better after the clean up.How is the rear quarters and lower B pillars or rocker panels for rust? That's where they usually have problems and can be expensive to repair. The vintage forum has a bunch of 56ers who frequent that forum and there is a wealth of information available there you might drop on down and ask there for your trim parts, many have parts cars.....Tedd

I told you she ain't muck to look at. The areas you mentioned have some issues but its not all that bad. Thanks for your help and info, I checked out those sites you mentioned and they are what I was looking for. Seems to me an olds is a little more of a challenge to fix up than a tri 5, but that's what makes it fun! Thanks again......mark.
