Hi welcome to the site. You can post a parts wanted thread if you're interesting in finding one or two reverse/backup lamp lenses. Someone may have some for sale.
Welcome. Nice car- very nice rear bumper. My sons first car was a 77 Supreme- rear bumper was rusty and fell off- lots of 'em did that here in Michigan....
Thank you to all of you that have welcomed me with open arms. Vintage Chief I will take that advice on the parts wanted thread. I had to fix that backup light the hard way. Bill G you are so right on that "lost souls" thing. I've been waiting for some aftermarket car parts producer to take up the challenge for 73-77 cutlass other than opgi. Greg Rogers, I'm hoping one of my sons will get the honor of getting this one minus the rusty bumper lol. Ozzie my cutlass recently had a motor refresh. flat top pistons(total surprise) when it was taken apart. The heads are from a 72 350 the block is a 75 350 and 2004r trans. If i left anything out you would like to know just let me know. again thanks for the warm welcome.

So cool, welcome aboard. Nice looking ride. Your 4th generation Cutlass is the only generation I am a fan of that I haven't owned yet... Maybe someday.

Same here in NYC, common sight to see these years with a wood rear bumper back when I was a young man. Some kinda design flaw from what I understand, rain water etc apparently channeled / made a bee-line to the supports... ? Had one in the family during the mid to late 80s. But it was also one of the lucky ones...
Thanks guys. It's nice to finally be a part of your forum. I'v been on here a lot for info. but never posted. I hope to check out all of your rides soon. I Have been building on the car for a good while. I need your help with a issue I'm having just want to make sure i post it in the right section. I seen bits of info on the issue but not the complete answer i need. It's brake pressure switch light related.
Ha, I remember all those 4X4 wood bumpers in the Buffalo area where I went to school. I believe it was a galvanic corrosion issue between the steel and an aluminum backer or attachment brackets. Something like that.
Anyways welcome, my Dad bought a '77 Cutlass Supreme new. They were extremely popular in the NE.
This reminds me of my '75 Regal with the huge cow catcher bumpers. All the other cars step back. My neighbor had a Cutlass this year, easy to drive, comfortable and luxurious. Something tells me this isn't your grandpa's Oldsmobile with those pistons and intake. Love the '70's blue block.
What cam did you choose? Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Thanks for the warm welcome, It's strnage you say that. The 77 cutlass was the best selling car of it's year. But it's like finding a needle in a hay stack down here in my part of FL.

You are right not my grandpa's Oldsmobile. I have the Edelbrock Cam 3712 I think was the number. But when I picked that cam years ago I didn't know the motor had those pistons. The engine was refreshed last year not by choice kind of blindsided me. So i stuck with the combo I had because everything was already worn in together. What would you recommend?
