I just joined the forums. I purchased this 1973 442 on the weekend which is a factory U code 455 car with 94,000 miles. The original 14" rims came with the car as well as an extra 455 engine. I will likely be going back to a stock stance with 15” Super Stock rims and work on some of the finer details.
My Oldsmobile story: My Dad purchased a 2-door 1976 Cutlass S with many sport options new and it performed daily duty. It became my first car in the 90s after Dad replaced it with a 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham. The 76 Cutlass had 265,000 miles and quite rusty when I got it. Shortly after buying my 1970 Monte Carlo in 1996 (I still have it!), my Cutlass transmission quit and that pretty much sealed the fate of that car. In 1997 we parted the car out as it was worth very little as a whole in its condition. For a long time I didn't have any ambition to own another Colonnade Cutlass but still had fond memories of the 76 Cutlass. Fast forward 25 years and I started thinking about buying a Colonnade Cutlass again. The casual searches started to get more serious in late 2023 and finally this 1973 442 came up for sale not far from home.
Beautiful '73 ! Welcome.
I agree with you on the stance - to me it's 'ok' as is with those rims & tires, but would look better with the more stock look. We all like different things 🤷🏼♂️.
Nice Olds 442!!

Beautiful car. I was actually looking for a slant nose 1976 or 1977 but they are hard to come by in the condition I wanted. Here's the 76 Cutlass S I grew up with.
