Just picked up a sweet 68 S convertible
Been an Olds fan ever since I saw my Grandmother's 57 Olds in her garage when I was in 3rd grade. I have helped my cousin with his 70 S hardtop, and many others with rocket cars but never had my own until Sat. I just got my first Olds from the car corral at Hot August Nights in Reno. My Dad bought a 68 Hardtop new, and I wished he had given it to me instead of trading it in when I was a teenager. So I had to go one better with a convertible. Always had a soft spot for the 68's.
This car looks to be mostly original with what I believe to be 117K original miles. Came with a book over an inch thick of receipts dating back to '93 when it had 90 something thousand on it. I know nothing about it before that. It does have a turbo 350 trans instead of the jetaway which is interesting. QB motor code, but haven't checked the casting date, or looked for a partial vin# on the block. Do the Olds records still exist somewhere? I know if you have a Pontiac you can write the historical society with your vin and get info about how the car was ordered & where the car was delivered. I'm a professional mechanic, and was pleasantly surprised to find there is very little I need to do to this car. Was just at the right place at the right time for this find. I've been trying to add an avatar, and a profile picture, but both times, after I see a photo on the upload page, I click save, and a message appears upload failed. So maybe there will be a photo or maybe not, we'll see. Cheers everyone.

Too bad about no Olds records.
I was thinking, this is actually my second Olds. The first one I inherited when my Mother passed, a 74 98 Regency, but I sold it to a friend's Mother within a couple of weeks. I did work on it for a while and drive it frequently when my Mom owned it. Used it to take friends to concerts in style a few times in the late 70's! I often wished I had a driver on those trips...
