Jimmy Jo

I have a 69 cutlass convert w/a sick 350 and a 4-Speed. I have bought a running 307 to install until I heal my 350. The 307 was an auto and I have a 4-speed. Will my 4-speed bell housing work on the 307 and what other problems will I have? The 307 is a complete running motor.
Thanks,
Jim

The bellhousing will bolt up fine. The problem you'll run into is the 307 crank isn't drilled for the trans input shaft pilot bearing. The 307 block also doesn't have the pivot point cast in for the clutch Z-bar.

I'm not 100% sure the flywheel will bolt to the 307 crank either.

Talking Jimmy Jo

Well, seems that I got this all backward. I asked a question before I introduced myself. So here goes:
I am old (70), retired twice and now drive a school bus, but I have been a car guy all my life. Raised in a Gulf Service station in Nashville, Tn. My father had the largest Gulf in Tn along with a car lot in the 1960's. I followed in his steps, so I have seen and had a million dollars worth of cars in my life (If I had just held onto them). At the time they were just cars. Who knew they would be SOOOO collectible now.
I have a 1969 Olds Cutlass "S" Convertible that I have owned for over 20 years. It has a 350 4 barrel, had a 3-speed w/console ( I put a 4-speed in it), P.S., Pwr front disc brakes, 308 pos., A/C, Pwr wind, Pwr door locks and Pwr trunk opener. We love it and it has been great, so great that I bragged on it and started restoring it, (check it out on facebook). Then it died. Started smoking at the young age of 45. I found a 307 that I can use until I get the 350 built and installed. That is the reason for my question that I posted too early. Please Forgive me and help me.
Thanks,
Jim Rucker

Thanks for the info. You saved me some money, and that's a good thing.

Welcome to the site, I merged your 2 threads. Now that you got the intro out of the way, more importantly, how about some pictures.

Welcome. Yes, we need pics.
Maybe sell the 307 to help with
the rebuild of the 350?
