Jeff from Amarillo

I just traded for a 1973 Cutlass, has a 350 in it, auto trans, not sure if I am keeping it to fix it up or selling it but thought I would stop in here and look around, anyone from this area do restorations that ya know of? I will definitely need paint and interior work.

Hey Jeff

I am your neighbor to the south in Lubbock. Plenty of auto restoration going on in West Texas. I have heard that there is a big carshow coming up in Amarillo on Sept 6th with proceeds going to cancer research. You could go and do a lot of prospecting there about who does what in your town. Also I am a member of the West Texas Olds Club which you are welcome to join if interested and we will help you any way we can with Oldsmobile needs.

Welcome to the sight, John

Hey Jeff im also from Lubbock but living in College Station now (Aggie Land). Theres numerous guys in Lubbock that do resto work. Tiner Machine is a good machine shop. There was another engine builder there but his ex recently shot and killed him then shot herself. He shipped racing engines all over the world, made ALOT!!! of money. RIP to him. My son knows a really good painter there. But then Lubbocks 150 miles from you. Theres alot of good info here, some really knowlegable guys.

Thanks everyone, I plan on attending car show in Amarillo and talk to people and see who might have time and ability to work within a reasonable budget, I have talked to a couple of people who havent even seen car but their starting price was $10,000 and then if it is to bad it goes up, I do not want to spend that much especially all at once, never know what I might end up in it over time, but the thought of writing a check for that day one seems tough for me.

Welcome Jeff,

My 56 Super 88 and I are in Central Massachusetts but the Super 88 started out in Amarillo, at Garner-Randall Olds.

I've always been curious if anyone in the car clubs in that area ( and I know there are a lot of them) might remember my car in their younger days.

Can you find me a contact that I can e-mail to follow up in my search?

Thanks,
Frank
