New to the Forum……

A little over 4 years ago I was in search of a classic car to have as a hobby and my first REAL classic. I Wasn’t looking for anything that necessarily needed a total restore (or even an Oldsmobile for that matter) from frame up but rather something along the lines of an original survivor car. Low and behold I stumbled on a 64 Starfire at a reasonable price but needed extensive mechanical restoration from sitting for 30 + years. I called and made an appointment to look at it the next afternoon. The exterior was its original Saddle Mist with Saddle Mist interior and pretty much in excellent condition except for needing a good cleaning and detailing. The next day I decided I wanted it and had it flat-bedded home since it was not road worthy. For the next 1 ½ year I parked it in the garage on 4 jack stands and began the rebuild and restoration and cleaning of the mechanics. Most I did myself and some I sent off the period correct and date coded parts to have restored. Now I take it to shows and drive it occasionally on weekends weather permitting. I have won several awards in the 2 ½ years after repairs. To date it still continues to be a labor of love and enjoy ownership of one of the best classics anybody could ask for.

My '71 CS Convertible was not titled outside of GA for the life of the vehicle until I purchased it last year (2018) - rust free. Welcome to the CO site.

Thanks for sharing pics, awesome car. Is the paint and interior still the original? How many miles on the car?
