I'll try this again-

Good to know what the Newbie Forum is for- thanks for straightening me out. We Newbies need to be shown the way.
Anyway, I'm happy to be on board. I've been sent here so often by Ask.com when chasing Olds info that I finally started coming on my own. The information highway here is incredible- great to have a ticket to ride.

I bought a '72 Cutlass Supreme convert in March and have been tinkering since in anticipation of the summer shows. So far I've done or had done front suspension, brakes, power window repairs, and a small tear in the seat cover. We're nearly ready to roll, and just in time.

Looking forward to a long and happy relationship with all of you. I'll do my best to figure out how to post pictures soon.

We have to look out for each other and having a good reference to post is quicker than typing it in each time

Suspension scares me (the need to steer is so important), so I had the front end completely redone and aligned. The rest I managed in my shop. I may be slow, but I'll get it eventually.
My 32 year old son is an excellent modern day mechanic, and he often complains about my repair speed- but not long ago I had to show him how to do drum brakes. He'd never messed with them before. Felt good to this old dog!

Hey, don't try to make me ...

I am far from an expert but I learn a lot when I do things the wrong way. Some times they are so wrong they are comical...
I always say the "next car" will be much easier...

Speaking of which, I know where there's a really nice set (4) of doors for a 70=72 VC. Just need a car to wrap em up in. What an incredible challenge. I can't think of an engineer alive who wouldn't snap up a deal like that. You could totally build it your way.

Still on the prowl? Lessee if I got it right (for my searches) so it will truly be much easier

* 68-72 VC (maybe flattop???)
* NOT GREEN
* Rust free (as possible)
* Turnkey
* NOT YELLOW
* 350/350 350 4bbl preferred over 350 2bbl
* A/C
* comes with cute chick to hold your cold one (drink that is)
* Not big $$$$
* All mech/electrical work completed
* Paint must be immaculate or close...
* Preferably on this planet.....
