I want to live "the dream"..

Hello my name is Steve and I am from Syracuse, NY. I just turned 40 last week and I want to live my dream. When I was 21 I had a 1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme with a 350 rocket and auto transmission. I loved that car but I had to sell it because I went into the US Navy. Well now I am looking for a car that I can cruise around with my wife and 3 kids, I am looking for a 1969-1972 Cutlass S or supreme with a 350 or 455. I am looking at a few on Ebay but it makes me a little nervous buying without really looking at it or driving it.
Do you guys know anybody that is selling a decent car or can help me find one?
Thanks guys and great site.
Steve

Welcome Steve

I would not buy a car site unseen unless its a project that you expect to get supprised. Fly out and look or find someone in the area that knows what to look for look at it. I have see too many horror stories of site unseen buys.
Good luck

Hi Steve!
I'm in the Binghamton area and if I see anything in my travels I'll let you know! Also you might want to try Craigslist as well in your area. You might get lucky.I got a 71 Supreme hardtop I'm working on right now but I would like to keep it and it's a running project thats about 3 months away from being painted! Starting to see the light of day with this one! Good Luck!

Welcome to the site!
X2 of buying something without seeing or driving it. Craigeslist and ebat are fine if you can go see the cars first.
If the seller will not let you look at it, even though it is close to you, thats a big warning sign - happened to me with 2 cars around here. I passed on them easily.

I flew across the country to see my 72 before buying and if I did not like it, I figured I would rent a car and tour the area and fly home.
Of couse I did like the car so I drove her home. I do not have any regrets.
You want your new car to be as expected - not a perpetual headache.
Best of luck!
