Hola from Vegas!

Hey all, new to the forum and thought I'd say say hi. For the last 7 or so years I've been the proud owner of a '72 Cutlass Holiday Coupe. She's in pretty good shape, needs a bit of body/paint and interior work but nothing too major. Going to be a pro-tourer when I'm done, should have an LS1/4l60 in by the end of the summer, she already has all the other mandatory parts (Baer brakes, Hotchkis/Global West/Koni suspension). She came with a lot of original paperwork (protect-o-plate, window sticker, finance docs from Yates Olds in St. Louis, warranty info, etc) and I cant wait til she's back on the road!

Welcome to CO. You need to confer with Richard (Gearheads78) and see what he has done to his Cutlass. He can give you some good guidance along the way. I would like to make one recommendation, try to keep an Oldsmobile engine in it unless you already have the LS1 and are ready to swap it in. Kind of an obsession with some of us here and if you get some flack about using a non-Olds powerplant just understand us, we are kind of weird that way....

Thanks you two, I appreciate it!
cutlassgal - These pics were taken just before I bought her and with the exception of being a tad lower, a dent on the pass front fender (thanks to a buddy of mine) and 2 summers of getting beat on by the Vegas sun, looks pretty much the same.

Oldsguy - I'll look Richard up, his screenname looks familiar, if he's over at LS1Tech I may have seen him. I hear what you're saying about keeping an Olds motor, and I've thought about it....even bought a 455 to build up and I still have the original 350 (though in pieces at the moment). If I hadnt owned 3-LS1 Camaros I'd probably stick with an Olds motor but I've been spoiled by them (the whole family of LS motors in fact) and my mind is made up. I've been on other Olds boards so I know how you people can be. lol No worries, and after all, I'm building her for me and no one else.
