HI Guys Parts Needed

Hi Guys Great to see a forum for Oldsmobiles. I personally dont have one but have worked on many and have some friends with some badass ones. I am in need of a right rear wheel opening moulding and a rt rocker moulding for a 1974 Olds Delta 88 Royale 2 door convertible. Any help or direction would be highly appreciated. We are working on this car now, since it was hit, and winter is coming so we need the part ASAP so it can goto storage.

Thanks Jamie

Hi Jamie,

Welcome to the forum! I love the '74 Royale Convertible and am hoping to get one of my own one of these days. I have '76 Ninety Eights and a number of rocker mouldings for them but I don't believe they would work on a Delta. Not sure if you know this but usually these parts can be used on either side if you're willing to drill a few small mounting holes. Otherwise they're the same part so at least that will help with your search. I'll keep an eye out and ask around for anybody with an 88 moulding for you. I believe they are the same on a '75, right?

The wheel opening moulding is common to 1971-76 Delta 88s, though my parts books show a different number for 1974?? The number goes back to the 71-3 number for 1975-76.

RR wheel opening moulding: grp 12.116, p/n 8704653 RH, 8704654 LH 71-73, 75-76 BN, BL (Delta)

Just in case there is some weird difference, 74 p/n is 9631729 RH, 9631730 LH. Though I can't see any difference in the 6 years.

Rocker panel moulding is also common 71-76 all Deltas. Grp 8.304 p/n 231180 RH, 231181 LH.

Good luck. Parts for the 70s big cars aren't that easy to find. They made good crusher weight so yards liked to crush them.

Hi Jamie,

I just saw a post about a restored '75 Delta convertible where the owner used a '73 convertible as a parts car. I sent him your posting to see if he had any parts that might help you. Here's the post he started:

I hope you're able to find what you need. Still waiting for some pics of your car!
