Are you asking whether you can legally change the VIN of your parts car to the VIN of your other car, and make your other car into a parts car?

No. It's a felony.

That being said, if you do it and don't get caught, who would know?
(Unless you sold it, and a future owner discovered the VIN had been changed, and the original VIN was found to be hot, and it was traced back to you, and you were locked up for running a chop shop, which is what you're talking about doing).

This varies from state to state. Call your local DMV office and ask what is required to get a replacement title. Usually there is a way, as long as the VIN is verified not stolen, and you have a receipt or similar showing that you own the car.

Your insurance company can help you with a bonded title and the information about your states laws. This should also be available on line. But its a lengthy process. Might want to hire somebody who does this for a living.

I believe each state has a process to apply for a lost title, I would call the local police dept and ask to speak with the vehicle theft division and ask them. You can also go through the DMV.
