Hello from sunny So Florida

Just wanted to say hello to all you Olds fellas in here. Newbie here, but not to Olds muscle.

Ive been a life long Olds fan, loyal to the bone.

Ive owned several Olds muscle over the years, all Cutlass models, actually at one time had a 70' W30 between my hands, under my butt. But when economy turned, due to my past profession, I felt it first way before most others did. Lost it all.

Now Im trying to start over again. I picked up a very cheap 71' Cutlass S 455 thats got some good, and not so good. "the Good, The Bad and The Ugly." The good is that most of the important issues already far along, fresh rebuilt motor and tran, previous owner poured boat load into it and the body, solid solid metal wise. Body is 90% done by a life long body guy. The bad is everything else! He never finished it, top finish coat paint needs redone, (guy knows metal inside out, but not finish paint!) doors and trunk lid still need work, the interior, all the trim, etc, etc. all lots of work ahead-- All very bad and ugly, missing stuff, etc. But I made sure the most important stuff was there. I think I will do a poor mans modified 442 with this one. 60-70% Cutlass S, 30% hot rod 442. I will keep the old school look in body\interior, but use new school suspension, under hood, etc. where need be.

Already found the Assembly manuals through this site. What an awesome resource this site is, already has steered me in right direction in several ways.

Im going to do everything on this car myself, except the paint. I got to, cant do it any other way these days. Me and my 11 yr old son... Im not the type to document the journey of a restore, I just do it. But I might now on this one in this age of internet. Could help someone else wanting to do same thing one day. I will start a thread in proper area on "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" and its transformation. Of coarse all input, tips and help is greatly appreciated. Im looking forward to Olds muscle again! The legacy continues!
Jim

Thx everyone! Nice to feel welcomed.

Last 4 days Ive been working in garage getting it ready for the Cutlass S.

Ive Epoxied the garage floor, and setting it all up to rock n roll, complete
with new stereo system.
Man what a pain in the rear. SO much prep work to the floor. Dont have fancy Concrete sander\etcher! All by hand.
Came out pretty nice.
I like a nice space to work in.
Check out the pics of my new work space.
Car will be in hand tomorrow eve.

Sorry for the lack of pics in first post. I edited it originally and added them, but something happened I guess. I think they might have been too large. I just added them again, smaller this time.
Of course I will take much better ones this w\e after I get it, weather permitting.

Sorry to hear this. May I ask what your previous profession was?

Anyway, welcome to CO!
