Hello from Southwest Michigan
Hey guys, my name is Ron. I recently purchased my dream car, a 1970 Cutlass. I've wanted one since before I had a driver's license and I finally got one! It's a 350/auto car with the 310hp engine. Originally the light green with a black vinyl top and dark green interior. It's a 40,000 mile original that had been hit in the passenger rear quarter and, after a shoddy repair job, the owner shoved it into the back of the garage where it spent most of its life. It's otherwise all-original. I plan to cherry the body back out (absolutely rust-free, just dings/dents) with a mild performance rebuild for the engine. I'm glad to find people who share my love of Oldsmobiles. It was tough growing up in a die-hard Ford family, but I persevered! I can't wait to get into some conversations and learn a thing or two along the way!

Welcome to C.O. And congrats on your purchase. Send some pictures. No Rust and 40K miles sounds like a great candidate to start on! Best of luck. You'll love this site. It's simply the best for "Olds Fans" Larry

The previous pic is the bad quarter replacement job. The car looks a little more rought than it really is. There is no rust of any significance anywhere on the car and its complete, which was the most important thing to me. I plan on doing the body in the original light green that it came in, and doing a mild performance rebuild. It's the 10.25 cr 350. I was thinking on running an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake with the original rebuilt Quadrajet, doing a mild port/polish job on the heads and maybe a mild performance torque converter (maybe 1600-2000 rpm?). Anyone have a cam that they would recommend?

VI Cutty, I didn't happen to notice that, but now that you mention it, it did seem that something was different to me about the tail lights on mine but I couldn't put my finger on it. I know that the passenger door is also not the factory door as well. I was considering also putting a reproduction 442 hood and stripe kit on it as well, but not sure.

The interior isn't bad. Its the dark green with a bench and column shift. The carpet is out of it, and some gorilla that was trying to take the back seat out bent the rear seat frame up pretty badly. Also, one of the levers that rocks the seat forward to give access to the rear seat is snapped off. The headliner got munched on by mice, and the rear shelf had some aftermarket speaker grills installed. Also, the hole for the radio was enlarged for an aftermarket head unit. I really like the shade of green that it has, but it limits my color options for paint. I'm just going to repaint it the original color. I believe they refer to it as "Reef Turquoise".
