Hello from Georgia

Hey guys, new member in Acworth(NW Atlanta) Georgia. My new ride is a "mystery mutt", that I am trying to research my way through. It is a 1970 supreme rag top, with what appears to be a 1972 motor(350 rocket), ssIII wheels in torch red(car is Torch red), 442 package( sways, ladders, duals)
and mixed bag of emblems...my first question for the vets is a vanity/correctness one. The fender emblems are 1971-72 cursive chrome, not the 1970 bi-color "Cutlass'. (a) can I switch them using the same holes??? and (b) is there access through the kicks to that spot to get at the nuts? It isn't worth tearing down the fenders, but I am trying to get the exterior more correct. I replaced the black hood rocket with the claret one, and my car has the hood "oldsmobile" logo in cursive on drivers side above the lights....must be a 71-72 hood??? any help here would be appreciated.

Mark

Hi Mark, welcome to ClassicOldsmobile! I'm not sure about your question of the emblem pins, but I know you can't reach it through the kick panel. For me the easiest way is to remove the inner fenderwell, which still takes some effort. Can you post pictures for us to see your car? It will take 5 postings to get out of the newbie section to where you can post to different catagories. Please take the time to tell us more about your car, how long you've had it, what you know about it's history. That can add a couple posts John

Mark, welcome to CO. We have quite a few Oldsmobile historians on the site with specific knowledge and references for the '70s cutlass cars. I am quite sure you will get an answer to your questions soon. You are now a registered member and can post everywhere and do pictures too.
