Hello everyone !

Got a 1961 olds dynamic 88 conv coupe. Will post picture later. 455 I think is from 73 cutlass . 400 turbo. Car runs excellent but is performing like a small block. Ihave read here that in order to get headers to fit this car the engine has to be lifted out a little bit? It is an factory ac car and it looks really tight. I am now planning to put an edelbrock 800 carb and intake . Also was recommended by some body to replace hei with bullit distributor and 10 mm wires and hp plugs. They way I understand it, this engine may have had 250 hp stock? Anybody know how much hp these upgrades will bring?

Surprised that you don't notice the torque of the big block, it shouldn't be disappointing, even a '73 vintage. Welcome to CO.

Cool

I know there is power lurking in there at certain rpms . And I know ther is a way to get this engine to be much stronger. Also. Have 55 chevy w/454 that too started out about 200 hp and know with some tuning it is an absolute wild animal!
