Mike, welcome aboard.
Well now, don't be bashful. Let's hear the story of your 442. Your keyboard is designed to take that kind of abuse.

BTW, is your car already restored or a work in progress? As others have said, please post pics. Here's some info on posting them if you need it.

* clik the 'go advanced' tab
* Press the icon that looks like a paper clip; and A 'Manage Attachments' box will appear
* Choose (navigate on your computer to where the pics are stored) and hit 'open'. repeat for all 5 pics.
* Hit 'upload'. It may take a bit of time depending on your pic resolution. If you have ultra high res, you will have to 'resize' them with your picture editor to a 1024X768 size or smaller for the C.O. server to accept them.
* Close the "manage attachments' box.
* Preview your post and the images will be at the bottom
* Hit 'submit post' and the thread will have the images installed at the bottom. Unfortunately you can only do 5 pics at a time this way.

If you have the pics hosted on another web server?
* Copy the IMG url and Press the icon that looks like an envelope with mountains on it. Paste the URL into that box and hit 'ok'. You can install up to 20 images this way.
* Be sure to preview your work.
* Make sure the images don't carry on across the page, stack them for easier viewing.

Take a screen shot (Ctrl + PrtScn)and paste it into your Paint accessory. Crop, add circle, then save to My Pictures. Upload to CO and voila! If you have any trouble with it, LMK and I'll drop you an email.

1969 Oldsmobile 442 Holiday Coupe Pics

Hi, Here are some pics of my Olds 442. She has been in the UK since 1987 and I suspect that she was brought over by an American Service man. Other than the last owner (who had the car for four years), I do not know any of its previous history. She was full stripped and bare metal resprayed two years ago. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Eddie and Mike...On the right side of your post is a blue oval with the word EDIT. If you click on it, you can change or repair mistakes or add more info into the same post without creating an additional post.

Thanks, Mike.
The car looks amazing. The mirror looks wrong though. Love the look of the wheels. They look like Hurst option wheels.

re: pic size? Use your picture editor to resize them for a max of 768X1024. The C.O. server will accept that and reduce it as needed. Sometimes this reults in a small change in resolution, but not enough to make a difference to the average viewer.

Is that " snag it " you use to capture screen shots like that ? That's what we use at work .

I never did a screenshot before ( I accidentally hit it every once in a while on my old computer ( F12 with Windows 98 ) I also can't remember where to find the file on the computer with the screenshots in it for that matter . I have Windows 7 now , and it's not F12 on here . I'll have to google it .... BTW what does ^^^ mean ?

PrtScn is a keyboard function. Look on the top right side of your keyboard. There should be a key that is multi function (PrtScn/SysRq/Insert) That's the one used for the screen capture. You will still need a media to paste the screen capture so you can modify it as needed.

F12 is not print screen - it's a function key linked to "Print" for your printer - just a shortcut if you use keyboard shortcuts more than your mouse.

^^^ means 'look above'.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your welcoming comments. I still have to sort out my photos.
Can you please tell me if my 455 should be 8 or 10 degrees BTDC as the manual covers many variants?
Thanks, Mike - UK

Sorry Russ, I must have missed that. According to the 1969 CSM your timing should be 8° BTC at 850 rpm (with vac hose at dist disconnected & plugged, and air cleaner vac source plugged also).

Welcome aboard.

That's really odd. I thought I was the only one on the planet who put a Hurst shifter in a 69. Is it a 69 console or the later models? [designed to easily add a Hurst dual gate.
