Question headlight wiring issue's

im in the start of a restoration of a 1966 cutlass convertable . im helping a great friend with this and im glad there is a place to look for answers and help . mt first problem im having is headlights not working .. the car had an 80's alarm installed and i had to remove it to troubleshoot things that can/will be wrong cause the car sat like 20 yrs . the light's worked before the alarm was removed ,but i noticed some wires dangling right at the fuse panel with what looks like they were broke off of something so i tried to put power on them and sure enough the lead to the head lights . my question is where does this go ?? its maybe 10 inches long and cant go but to so many places but i can't for the life of me figure where it needs to go . im sure i can pick up a diagram ,but im in hope someone has had this problem and can shed some light for me =)

thanks in advance in any and all help =)

Welcome, pic's are always appreciated.

The alarm probably had a light flasher when it was activated and basically was spliced into the lighting system. Basically you have 2 sides of the same wire hanging there. Check the voltage and you'll probably find that 1 wire has 12 volts when the lights are on, the other wire will go to the lights.
