Smile Headers

Hi,

we recently bought a 1964 oldsmobile cutlass 330.
We are wanting to buy headers/extractors, does anyone know who I could buy a set from.

Thanks for any help,
Marg

Welcome to the site, post some pictures of your car. There are basically 2 sources for headers for the 64-67 A bodies with an SBO, Kooks and American Racing Headers. Both are very expensive. Some have been known to install Hookers, but need major massaging.

Hi, Has anyone used hedman header huggers 58160 on 1964 oldsmobile f85 cutlass, I have been told they will fit on no problems?
Thanks Marg

Are you sure you need them? What kind of use will the car see?

I know something about them, but not as they relate to a 330 in an early A-Body. I've had several cars with headers and I'll tell you right now, I don't feel that they're worth the trouble in most cases. For performance gains, I'd start with a good dual exhaust system, a proper ignition curve and an upgrade from your 4GC carburetor and see where that got me before I went to the expense and heartache of installing headers. A lot of Pure Stock racers achieve incredible results through factory manifolds.

Is the car an automatic? Because that two-speed Jetaway is a handicap that won't be easily overcome by any number of speedshop goodies.

Those will not fit as the frame rails are narrower than the 68 and up. Like I sad earlier in the thread, Kooks or American Racing are the only 2 that fit well with an SBO in the 64-67 A bodies. They are pricey.

I bought a set of headers Hooker headers for my 65 330, finally got them on, but then realized that they hung to low. Headers are 5 years old and never been fired thru, hanging in my shop. Went back to stock exhaust manifolds with a good dual system.
