Been a fan of Oldsmobiles for more than 44 years , owned a 70 442 , a 74 Omega and a 69 442. Hopefully will ad another 69 or 70 442 this year. Presently looking at a 70 442 and will have some questions on authentication. Thanks for having me join .
Welcome to the forum and happy new year! There is a lot of information available here. Ask questions if you can't find the answer with a search. And post photos of your cars.
Currently looking at a build sheet with the codes and options listed for a car. Are these codes the same as a Pontiac or are they specifically for an Olds ?
search the threads in this site as specifically as possible (year, model, rpo code, etc) and you will swim in information...
I started with google, found a couple sites with rpo codes and much more, some of which you can download.
But, nothing beats a lifetime of knowledge and the manuals to prove it... so there are folks here that know more than the internet!
Did anyone mention we love pics?... also, if the car you are looking at is listed online, these folks know how to pick apart everything from a barn find to a concourse resto....
Eye candy:
Each year is different, factories were different, some were different within model years on how they documented... so specificity def matters!
I cross referenced some of the build sheet with Pontiac codes and some are definitely the same. A few aren't . Will try to post a pic of the build sheet if I can figure out how to post pics.
. Is the M14 the Dearborn Ford trans in 70 ?
Thanks for all your help.
There are folks who know a lot more than me about these sheets; my Lansing car did not have this one. These were found on most Fremont cars, so there should be plenty of references!
From what I can tell this is a pretty standard 442... M14 3sp floor shift, 3.08 posi, JJ stealies with P01 caps, straight bar steering wheel, AM radio with the rear speaker.
