Greetings from Pennsylvania

I am restoring a 1963 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 that I bought when I was 17, I am now 27 and I am having difficulties finding certain parts to replace the ones that have been claimed by rust or were damaged when I bought the vehicle. Does any one have any suggestions for physical places or websites that I can find parts outside of EBay? Also is anyone familiar with any issues with the 394 Sky Rocket? I have one out of a 1961 to be placed into my restore project, because my original was stolen when someone broke into my garage and stole it, the engine stand, and various other things.
I have also noticed that there is an extra sump on the engine, does anyone know why they would have added an extra?

What kind of parts are you looking for?

Body, trim, and interior parts are not reproduced for the full-sized Oldsmobiles, so anything you need will have to come from donor cars. Post your specific needs on this site as well as in as many other places as you can.

Mechanical parts can be gotten if you hunt for them. Fusick, rockauto.com, Kanter, and your local auto parts store are places to at least try for engine, brake, and drivetrain parts, but I'm not familiar with the specifics of the '63s.

You might try this site as well:

The 61 engine is slightly different from the 63-64, mainly around the timing cover and water pump. The earlier engines had that extra "hump" on the side of the oil pan, just to gain a little extra oil capacity. They're interchangeable, but the 61 engine may take a different front motor mount, not sure.

Ring blowby is the worst problem I've encountered on 394. They had some valve guide issues too which aggravated the blowby. Otherwise they are pretty much bulletproof engines. Why do you think the 394 ruled the NHRA Gasser classes in the early 60s?

Why in hell someone would steal a heavy Olds 394, IDK, unless they were going to sell it for scrap. Lowlifes...

What parts are you looking for? They'll have to come from another 63 unless you find some NOS or western used somewhere. If you need a rear bumper (and most 63 owners do), bend over and grab yer ankles cause it's gonna hurt. Good cores with no rust-thru are gonna be in the $400-600 range plus whatever replating costs are.

PM me and I'll put you on to a good Olds parts vendor in Chicago area. Guy understands early 60s Olds too. I hesitate to just throw his email out here.

I have a small assortment of odd 63 parts the previous owner of my car gave me. Having a 59, very few are of use to me. As rocket raider said, let us know what you need.

parts needed are fenders, a couple rims, my hood is crispy on pass side, and fender tips. other than that door handles and headlight buckets there but pitted. fenders are dented and left one rotted. my quarter panels are getting crispy on bottom so id like to replace from crease to bottom. after the body I would like detailed pics of engine compartment for proper orientation of hoses and such. thanks to all that posted I appreciate the help.

Welcome from another SE PA member. I have heard great things about these Harry's U Pull it junk yards. Might be worth a shot.
