Greetings from NW PA

I joined because I have a few questions....

about...

(see pic)

Got it last saturday....finally got it off the trailer and into the garage and on the lift friday, got her knocked pretty well apart while the rock auto delivery trucks keep rolling in...

What has been found to be the best way to clean and preserve the wonderful landau roof?

And on the 78, was the air cleaner always black or corp blue like the motor?

ps not my first olds rodeo. a spate of 72(first purchased car for me), 74, 76, 77 cutli with K, M and R motors, a bunch of BPO wagons with Y code stones and lastly a 98 cutlibu

edited to add: holy cow, forgot the 1991 wagon I got in 07...ok, it was an olds in badge only

This one has the 6.6, 400 and a 2.41 axle (yikes) but it got 30ft of 1 tire fire without trying when moving up the road from the field the trailer was in, to my driveway.

Welcome. The air cleaner was black from the factory. The engine is a 403, not a 400. Good luck.

I was a busy day yesterday what with the auction and all (no the 69 cutlass s conv did not sell, pm me for a number from the seller, and the seats were GTO seats....(gto, cutlass, whats the diff right? ) I fill the bed of my sons truck to overflowing with auto parts for.....drumroll....$80 (had to pass on a literal mountain of walker original bend exhaust pipe that went for $35 - where would I put it?)

Anyways, I got 2 cases of pennzoil PZ2 oil filters - the champion labs answer to the PF24 and a good pile of pennzoil PZ12 air filters (aka AC212CW)

but most importantly, after loading the carlisle trailer and taking the wife for ice cream and a leisurely stroll in the NW PA woods by car, I put in a late hour on the regency. 11:45pm engine start with a rock solid idle and a perfect choke stepdown. mebbe I should not toot the horn but the old man apparently didnt forget everything about a qjet...
