Greetings from the NW corner of CT

Hello all,

My name is Scott Stiffler, I'm 55 years old and live in the NW corner of CT.

The car I drove as a teenager was a '68 Vista Cruiser and what a blast we had in that car....many fond memories.

For years, I've had a hankering to get a '68 - '72 Cutlass and I finally took the plunge. I just closed a deal for a '71 Cutlass Supreme convertible, pics below. Woo Hoo!

Wow, talk about coincidence. I grew up in central MA, turned 55 last year, and my first car was a 68 VC that I drove from 1974-77.

(Cue Twilight Zone music)

Welcome. Nice Cutlass.

My ol'lady is from Litchfield or thereabouts (Rte 63). Been around there a lot.

Used to go to Sharon Hospital now and then when I was in college, working for Alamo Ambulance in Po'k (see thread elsewhere mentioning "Mother, Jugs, and Speed").

Welcome.

Hey, by the way, NE CT guys - a quick question:

Do you (or your friends or family) have the word "raggie" (or "raggy") in your vocabulary?

My wife uses it a lot, but I'd never heard it before.

And it's a term of affection and endearment, right?

Because she uses it to refer to me when I've got a car disassembled all over the driveway.

Absolutely great to learn of local board members -- looking forward to meeting up with you all.

Dean, I coach my son's travel soccer team and we usually play in New Hartford (at Brown's Corner) every season. He wants me to take him to a soccer game in the new ride in the worst possible way, so I smell this one coming!

Joe, funny. I'll try and dig out a pic of me and the old VC back in the day.

Looking forward to the day when I can contribute -- for now, I'm going to be a sponge -- plenty to learn and I found the right place!
