Greetings from Hungary!

Hi fans!
Tamas from Hungary and I'm glad to be here!
2010th I bought this in January 1980 Cutlass Cruiser is the only working car in Hungary!
In 1992 he took into the country from georgia. Then it was 37,000 miles and the owner brought with him when he came home. Since then he has owned a lot but now in good hands. As soon as my money will be constantly improving and my friends. Briefly, this much, ask calmly.

Welcome aboard!
Nice looking wagon - I bet it stands out of the crowd of small cars over there...
Now that you have it, what are your plans for it? Use as a driver, restore it, make a show car?
Post some pictures when you can - we all love pictures!

Hello!
Thanks everyone for the greetings!
I try to answer everything, so, yes, stands out among the European average cars! Great experience in the management of such a car. Then I would like to restore the original condition. Every day I walk with him, very grateful! Here is a small country who is also a lot of fanatical love of American cars. There are a few rare pieces is at home!

Welcome Tamas.

Station wagons rule the world!

You have the only working car in Hungary?
I bet you would win a trophy at every car show you entered there.
Or would they be called "The car" shows???

LOL well I can speak very limited Hungarian, but I cannot spell a single word in Hungarian. So I was writing out "How are you" phonetically (i.e. as it sounds to English speaker). The second sentence was was supposed to mean "Very nice Car". The third sentence was trying to say "I am Hungarian American".

My father was born there. My mother was born here, but her parents are from there.

Tamas, your English is fine and we can understand you. Just please don't ask me to speak any Eastern European languages; I would be far worse than Bob.

There's a fellow in Hungary with a 77 Cutlass who has restored the car almost perfectly. He goes by zolav8 on www.73-77olds.com but he hasn't been on there much lately. Great guy with a lot of talent. You may already know him.

Hi!
Thank you, you do not ask.
Now I'm writing again, really a small world! Sure, I know that Zola, his home and many people know an awful cool guy!
In fact, one might say that he keeps up the v8 Hungarian fans on this site: www.v8cars.hu
Live in the car was very nice, amazing how much work it is.
Is registered to this forum as well?

If you were to speak Hungarian to me I would probably understand most of what you say. However, I cannot write or read it and most interestingly except for some very simple basic phrases I cannot speak Hungarian.

I can only attribute this understanding, but not speaking Hungarian to my childhood experience. As a child my parents would speak it if they wanted to keep something from me (say what to give me for birthday present). Therefore, as a curious kid I was forced to learn to understand it. However, I was never asked to speak it and I had no reason to want to speak it.......particularly since this would give away the fact that I understood my parents!!!

As an adult whenever I explain it or think about why and how this happened I am still fasinated about the phenomenon. It is so interesting how the brain works.

Have you been to Hungary?
Anyway, what you wrote in English so the Hungarian

How are you?-Hogy vagy?

Very nice car!-Nagyon szép autó! Thanx

I am Hungarian American-Én vagyok amerikai-magyar

In 1992, the car was in the country, from Georgia, I think the former owner used it at home and then sold. Used by an owner for 8 years and he also sold. After that was a lot of hands in January and now, fortunately, to me! As we could have met the owner even more. It was good to hear the experiences found on which the car passed. Because of living at home is difficult enough, I hope you will not have to sell. As far as the financial situation allows, try to deal with it, a plan or a lowrider or restored.
The car is already 95% of its original state, of course, has already seen a lot of incompetent repairman is Hungarian and is now polishing a second layer.
It would be easier if America does not need to order parts. Of course there are friends who have dealt with this, but it would be nice to own an American friend addressed me directly.
It would be nice to know what his life was out of the car in Georgia, who's had photos, maybe someday I can find the owner.

Hi, thanx!
Really difficult to find such a station wagon in the States?
Unbelievable, I thought it was still a lot of running around it.
Our knowledge, this is the one that is really what works.
