Greetings from the desert!
Hi all, Im Mike. I have a 74 442 with the optional "rust-o-matic" top. Its a 455 car. I have had Olds on and off since i bought my first 68 442 in 1980. I am going to restore this car for my daily driver. If anyone knows of a good sorce for parts for this please let me know. I am finding it hard to find parts for. Also, i sell old parts for a living so i have some 68-72 Cutlass parts if you need some. I love the forms and will be reading and posting. Take care, Mike

Welcome to the site Mike! Did your car have a vinyl top on it? I'd encourage you to create both a parts wanted thread of what you need, and a parts for sale thread for the spare parts you have. To get the most response please include your city/state/province/country so people know if your close or not. We've got members from all around the world on this site! Another place that can help with your vintage is: http://73-77olds.com/
Not as many members there as here, but those guys are really focused on your vintage of cars.
Then last but not least, please post pictures of your car

Mike, welcome aboard. Nice to hear you're restoring it to be a driver. You'll be turning lots of heads when it's out and about. 74 with an original 455? That's kind of a rarity. Love 'rust o matics'.

Thanks for the welcome! I am going to post some pictures next week. My car had a vinyl top and its rusted in the usual places. The car runs and drives good so thats a plus. trublue442 - its very possible you bought some parts from me on Epay. I sell alot of them there. I wish i had driven one of these new. They sure are a good riding car.

For some reason, the Olds Cutlass line always was a better riding car. No real explanation I know of, but Chev, Pontiac and Buick just couldn't match even though they were the same A bodies and frames. Olds really had a winner. I like the ride of my 72 Cutlass better than a new Caddy or Lincoln.

You'd be surprised how much crap that saves flying onto the lower paint and front wheel opening lip. At least I got the HD mudflaps that say OLDSMOBILE!! Happy Victoria long weekend Ted!
