This a good car for first restore 1971 cutlass
Hello
Is this car a good restore for first time? I am expecting this car to take a 3 to 5 years. I am planning to do a frame on restore. I am concern about the rust and price. Car is on craigslist. Click on link below to see car pics.
Thanks in advance

I would make sure you check the frame too. If it's been outside a long time and it's from the rust belt the frame may have some issues too. She looks pretty rough for $3200.00. It is on Old's though. Good luck and keep us posted on the progress.
If its been in inland California all of its life and the only thing your dealing with is sun bake and surface rust then the answer is yes. Hows the floors and frame and trunk pan? Look at those areas closely. Hows the roof? By the looks of the door seams and lower rockers its encouraging. Whats the dash and back package tray look like where the glass meets it. This is a problem area and expensive to fix if you dont have good metal fab skills.
If it all looks solid jewem down to 2.5-3K and you have a good solid starting point IMO...

well it is in Victorville Ca. No rust belt there.
The ad says paint was strip to metal, looks like it was left outside.
So surface rust. Just need to check floor pans and trunk.
Would make a great project, just how much is your budget and how much drive do you have to take a project like this?

I would check that rear package tray as well, it looks like it has water damage or sun warp
