Wifey inherited a 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 2d Hardtop (Corrected). It's definitely a project car. It does run and drive but needs a lot of TLC. I already got a shop manual and been doing all sorts of research. Looking forward to the head first dive into the pool :-)
Any intel on where I can find door panels or templates for it?

Welcome to CO, nice car! My (now ex) brother in-law was driving one just like that when he first started dating my older sister. Same color combo too, but can't remember if it was a hardtop or 2-door sedan. This was back in the mid '70s when this wasn't such an old car yet. Good luck with your project and keep us posted on progress.
Long, long, long lead time from SMS. Talking in terms of years.
That is a great year and a great color combo. Way harder to go original, but kudos for the effort. I wouldn't trade '57 coupe condition for condition to anyone's 442.
From the picture of the car sitting on the trailer, it looks really nice, maybe give it a good cleaning and buff it out, go through all the mechanicals. How bad is the interior, is it completely missing the door panels or just need repair? You might get her where she can be a nice original car and keep the patina, otherwise a complete restoration will take years to complete depending on your skills, my opinion

Years? No, but months probably.
When I had my seats done, I took them to a local shop. I had them estimate the number of yards of each material needed.
I ordered. It took a couple of weeks to get the vinyl, but probably a month or two to get the cloth.
SMS started out warehousing obsolete materials from other warehouses.
Then they set up looms and vinyl presses to make materials they didn't have.
Then they started making complete door panels.
Now I see that they are offering pre-sewn complete interiors for some cars.
I ordered a pre-sewn headliner a couple of weeks ago, It was promised sometime in January, so we'll see.
Material can take months, 2 or more. Material is one thing, making door panels is another, as you are going to be in a long line.
Their work is great, but you better have much time and patience.
A regular shop can make door panels if you have all the trim pieces and door pulls. Mine were restored by a small shop, I'm sure others could do it, you might need t get the fabric (maybe leather on a Starfire), but panels aren't that complex that only one place can make them... Tedd
The interior is bad. Torn seat covers, missing door panels, torn headliner,...... I'm going to do a complete interior makeover. I'm in no rush and have plenty of patience. Thanks for the incite fellas.
