First Oldsmobile

Hello Everyone!

I'm the new owner of a Canadian market 57' Holiday sedan. I found it on a farm in Alberta, Canada. It has 32,000 original miles and is original with the exception of a new dash pad and windshield. I believe I am the fourth owner of the car. The main restoration work it requires are some rocker panel holes and some minor upholstery work. When I first saw the car, I was surprised to see such advanced rust on the rockers, yet the underside, wheel wells, and all other rust prone areas are nearly pristine. It appears one of the previous owners scraped the rockers up against equipment in his barn and exposed the rocker metal to water. A patch of upholstery in the drivers bench has torn and will be sent off to be patched with new O.E. style fabric in the new year. Otherwise, all I've done so far is rebuild the carb, fuel pump, wipers, and brake hardware/lines.

Welcome to the group and the world of Oldsmobiles... Lots of members here are lost in the 50's... If not lost, at least born...

Thanks! I really like colour, it's one of the reasons I bought the car.
