Fan blower motor switch/relay?

I'm having a electrical issue with the fan switch. It stopped working before and I just had someone look at it and they had it fixed and running within 10 minutes. He used a power supply and a dmm. Of course, instead of paying attention in class (my friend fixxing) I was messing with the females ; )...
I need some self diagnosis that I can do to see if I can get it up and running. Can someone please help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated seeing how its winter here and I need my heater.

does the blower work on any of the speeds?
is there a "click" when you set the switch to high?

Why can't you call up your friend and ask him what he did?

Is it the ground prong on the motor body? Purple wire clipped onto the top on the motor housing?

Mine has been giving me problems lately
