Dynamic 88 owner here!

Hi everyone. I'm glad to have found this forum!

I have a 1963 Dynamic 88 Holiday 2 door coupe. White exterior with a less than spectacular interior (pretty bad.) The car is a "driver" so I'm not trying to make a show winner. However, the 394 two barrel engine has been rebuilt, along with the original Slim Jim transmission (roto-hydromatic, I think it's called.)

My car will need a new radiator, though, and brakes and possibly a front end. So I'll be asking lots of questions. I've owned the car for 7 or 8 years, but haven't driven it much in the last year and a half, per the brakes and radiator issues.

Thank you 64 Oldsmobile. My grandmother had a '64 Olds back when I was very small 6 or 7 years old. My brother gave my the "Oldsmobile" interior mirror from it several years ago. I'll see what I can do about the pics.

Welcome aboard Jim, excellent choice of car. If you haven't already done so get a factory shop manual and run searches here on the areas you plan to work on, much info available.

Thanks, Don. I love your Starfire. My '63 isn't near that nice.

I have a manual, but I mistakenly bought the one that covers BOTH the large Olds and the smaller F-85, which I don't have. No problem, just makes for a very thick manual.

Very true, but I think that's the only one available for 63. Good luck.

To me, the nice thing about full-sized 63's are the clean/simple lines and not a whole lot of chrome. Owned a conv in my college days.

great car. have the 64.No problem with front end parts many parts available and many vendors.Brake parts easy too. So question; are you amazed by how much getup the car has?

Thanks for the welcome folks. Answer: Yes, I love the power (and looks) of the '63 Olds 88's. Both qualify as "amazing." Not a dragster, but loads of torque.

But don't those rear bumpers rust out something awful?? And are near impossible to find? I replaced mine with an overpriced example that was not all that great.

I suspect that any part which is '63 Olds specific is expensive precisely because of the law of supply & demand. Simple fact is, supply is very limited. Stop and think about it, how many 1963 Oldsmobiles do yo see?
