Didn't know there were so many Olds "nuts"

Hi new to CO. Until I found this site I didn't know there were this many Olds "nuts" in the world.
I got my first Oldsmobile when I was 15. My dad gave me a 70 Cutlass for helping him build his Garage one summer. My current prodject is a 65 Jetstar 1. My grandfather ordered it new. It's been out of commission for about 25 years now. I'd like to have it back on the road this summer and take grandpa for a ride in his car again. And possibly take it to the Nats this summer.

Welcome!..i will be the first to ask for pics of your Olds
What happened to your 70 Cutlass?very cool thing to do with your grandfather...my Dad is still alive and his first car was a 53 Bel Air. I bought one a month ago, so I can take him for a tour in the spring...

Thanks for the welcome guys. I still have my 70'. I restored it when I was in high school put 442 badging on it along with a 71-72 front clip and ram air hood. (Always liked the 71-72 442 grills better than the 70). You guys would probably shoot me if you saw the car I used for the parts. But what can I say, I was a dumb teenager that didn't know any better. I post some pics as soon as I can figure out how to do that from an iphone.

Talking

Wheels are 16x8 American Racing, they were my grad present back in the day. Tires now are 245/50R16 front and 295/??R16 in the rear. (not in that pic) We used to have a few 82-92 Z-28's and I had a lot of tires to burn off . Didn't know 16" tires would become so obsolete. The center caps actually say 442 on them don't know if AR still offers them. And yes, it's PPG DBU 9300 black. Here's another pic I found in the "archivesimage.jpg"

Welcome to the site, 65JS1! Your "442" looks sharp, I like those rims on that car. I look forward to hearing about this Jetstar rebuild. That's a cool story.

Welcome to the forum.

Name any make/model of car, you will find a following for almost anything.
In the Uk for example, there is a thriving club for old Iron Curtain cars.....

Wait'll you try to find 14" tires for that J-1! Or even large diameter 5x5 bolt circle aftermarket wheels...
